I Did It, and I'm Not Sorry

The longer I stared at the latest logo, the more I hate it. Despite my efforts to advocate for an alternative direction away from the wargaming roots of the hobby, showcasing that not everything must revolve around violence, I found myself settling for an overused cliché. It desperately shouted, "Hey everyone, we're a game company!" with its hexagram, even though we don't focus on tactical combat. The aggressive block lettering only served to reinforce the status quo. It increasingly felt like a failure.

If it were just my feelings at play, I might have let it slide. But that other platform where I do a lot of business keeps changing things on their "new" site, including graphic sizes. So, even though I had just updated them last week, I had to do it all over again. While I was at it, I started tinkering, and what you see now is the result.

Frankly, I'm ready to be done with it. There are countless other tasks demanding my attention, so much more to focus on that’s a higher priority. The font I chose is the one we'll use in all future publications. I opted for a palette of black, white, and gold to impart an elegant, upscale vibe. There's no image or graphic; simplicity was key. Is it a conventional logo? Not really. But it serves its purpose, and I can finally put it out of my mind.

Oh, and the blog is now called The Light of Day, rather than The Day-To-Day. It’s been right there all along, I have no idea how I missed something so obvious
