Boycott Big Corporations. Support Small Creators.

I support the boycott. I’ve pulled my money from corporations that fund and enable this fascist regime. These aren’t distant threats or echoes of history. They’re happening now, in real time, with real consequences. With every contract signed and every donation made, these companies help spread surveillance, repression, censorship, and violence.

I’ve canceled subscriptions, changed habits, and chosen to do more with less. When possible, I buy small and local rather than order online. Not as a gesture. As an act of resistance.

But I need to speak plainly. Small creators are surviving inside the same systems we’re trying to resist. We didn’t choose these tools because we agree with the values behind them. We use them because, for many of us, they’re the only way to keep reaching people, especially across borders, under pressure, and in silence.

Amazon is part of the problem. Its labor practices, political entanglements, and monopolistic control are well documented. At the same time, its print-on-demand infrastructure makes it possible for independent creators to get physical books into readers’ hands without import fees, shipping delays, or border blocks. That access keeps us visible.

When someone outside the United States orders a book, it’s printed and shipped locally. The book gets through. It lands in the hands of someone who might not otherwise be able to access it. For the moment, they’re not subject to the stupidest tariff policies in the history of the human species.

The same is true for digital products like PDFs and ebooks. They’re not held at customs. They’re not blocked by international trade policies. They remain one of the few ways to share stories, ideas, and resistance across controlled space.

It’s a matter of picking your poison. Which is the lesser evil? What moral and ethical compromise do you feel you can live with, and, most importantly, which one lets you live to fight another day?

This isn’t a defense of corporate platforms. It’s a reminder that small creators are working inside compromised systems, doing what we can to survive and stay heard. If there were other viable options, we’d already be using them. But vanishing isn’t resistance. It’s erasure.

Keep the pressure on the companies that profit from this fascist regime. Make deliberate choices. Spend with purpose. And at the same time, hold space for the people trying to create meaning in the middle of all this.
