17 April 2024: Foragers Guild FAQ (Part 1)
What is the Foragers Guild all about?
The Foragers Guild Guides serve as versatile fantasy toolkits designed to enhance your roleplaying, worldbuilding, and storytelling experiences. Rather than focusing on specific mechanics, our emphasis lies in providing abundant opportunities for creativity and narrative exploration.
Why don't you use conventional fantasy RPG terms?
There are several reasons for this choice:
To accommodate a wide array of fantasy systems and settings, each with its own unique terminology, ensuring true system-neutrality.
To showcase alternative interpretations of fantasy roleplaying tropes and archetypes beyond those established by Dungeons & Dragons.
To avoid potential legal issues with a certain multi-billion dollar corporation that, after two decades, effectively nullified an ostensibly irrevocable license, potentially posing future challenges under different leadership.
Shouldn't "Foragers" have an apostrophe?
Indeed, it should. The name "Foragers Guild" pays homage to and gently satirizes the grammatically quaint style of the original 1st Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Players (sic) Handbook.
