Banking Hero Points

Hero Points can carry over between adventures, but the game encourages you to spend them to create memorable moments rather than hoarding them. If you choose to bank them, they can be used later for character advancement.

Carrying Over: After a major adventure, you’ve banked several Hero Points that you plan to use in the next session to add a new trait or improve an existing one.

Spending for Impact: During a final showdown, you spend your banked Hero Points (up to your limit) to pull off a daring and decisive move that turns the tide of the battle and leads to victory.

Building Toward a Goal: Over several sessions, you’ve been saving Hero Points with the intention of using them to introduce a powerful new trait that will redefine your character’s role in the group.

Using Them When It Counts: While you’ve been cautious about spending Hero Points throughout the campaign, you’ve banked enough to ensure that when an important moment arrives, your character will shine, pulling off an unforgettable feat.

The Lightspress Handbook isn’t just another rulebook. This is a reimagining of what roleplaying can be, challenging the norms and redefining how we think about storytelling in games. Forget the flashy mechanics designed to impress; this book strips things down to what truly matters: playing your characters and crafting their stories. Whether you’re exploring the intricate landscapes of traditional fantasy, venturing into the unknown in space opera, uncovering secrets in a gritty crime drama, or getting lost in the cozy charm of cottagecore fantasy, The Lightspress Handbook offers a universal, adaptable approach that fits almost any genre. It’s especially designed for those who are eager to dive into genres left in the shadows, like dark academia and magical realism.
