Occult Characters Beyond the Tropes
I'm glad you're here.
Occult characters don’t need to be shocking. They don’t need to wear skull rings, speak in riddles, or carry a tragic past just to be taken seriously. What they need is belief. Something they’ve seen or felt that changed them. Something they can’t forget, even if they tried.
Start with what drives them. Maybe they study the stars because someone once disappeared without explanation. Maybe they inherited a ritual they don’t fully understand, but follow anyway. Maybe they can hear things that aren’t there, and it’s never been a curse. It’s been a guide.
You don’t have to use familiar costumes to tell a real story. You just have to give the character something to believe, something to question, and something they’ll never say out loud. That’s where the weight comes from. That’s where the story begins.
The occult line offers a lot of ways to create without falling into clichés. You can explore it at lightspress.com/discover.
I hope you're doing well today,
