The Hours That Return
The Hours That Return is a system-adaptable narrative roleplaying scenario about war, fractured memory, and lives experienced out of sequence. Survivors, archivists, journalists, and investigators struggle to impose meaning on events that refuse stable chronology as official records shift, public narratives harden, and moments from different decades collide without warning. Veterans repeat conversations before they happen, researchers pursue evidence of temporal instability, and institutions quietly suppress accounts that threaten political and historical order. Inspired by the themes and structure of Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, this original scenario explores trauma, memory, bureaucracy, and the pressure created when reality itself refuses to remain fixed.
