A playhouse disappears into the winter night while London argues over whether the act is lawful reclamation or organized theft. Inspired by the real dismantling of The Theatre and the construction of The Globe in 1598, Timber in the Dark is a narrative roleplaying scenario about ownership, survival, reputation, and collective risk under mounting pressure. Actors, carpenters, landlords, constables, river smugglers, rival companies, and desperate investors collide across frozen crossings, crowded taverns, holding cells, and half-built construction yards as the future of a theatrical company hangs on stolen timber and uncertain legitimacy. Every removed beam destabilizes another relationship. Every delay spreads financial and political pressure further through the city. The theater already exists in pieces. Whether it becomes something greater, or collapses into scandal, depends on who controls the story long enough to finish the structure.
